Ukg Architect

Environment / Background
UKG currently supports the HR organization. The internal PMO team focuses on larger enterprise initiatives and does not take on smaller UKG-related projects. The HR team requires additional technical expertise to support and expand the UKG platform.
The organization maintains a business applications database that documents all enterprise applications along with business and technical ownership. UKG currently does not have a clearly defined technical owner, creating a gap this role is intended to fill.
UKG version is not yet confirmed, but UKG Pro is the most likely environment. Deployment model (cloud vs. on‑prem) is also TBD. There is no involvement with UKG hardware components such as badge swiping or physical access systems.

Project Scope / Responsibilities
This resource will act as the technical SME/architect for UKG and will be responsible for both hands-on work and strategic guidance. Responsibilities include:
Providing technical expertise on UKG, including modules, connectors, interfaces, and frameworks
Supporting the implementation of new UKG modules (e.g., UKG Voice and other future modules)
Gathering and translating business requirements into technical requirements
Developing technical roadmaps related to UKG enhancements
Producing technical documentation and written artifacts
Identifying and addressing “low-hanging fruit” technical improvements
Serving as the technical liaison between IT and non-technical HR and business stakeholders
Advising HR/IS teams on UKG best practices and technical capabilities
This is not a purely architectural role and not purely an SME role; the ideal candidate can operate in both capacities as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong technical experience with UKG, ideally UKG Pro
In-depth understanding of UKG modules, integrations, APIs, connectors, and overall architecture
Experience implementing and enhancing UKG modules
Ability to develop technical requirements, roadmaps, and documentation
Strong technical writing skills
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Experience working with HR, HRIS, or business applications teams
