Project Overview
The Technical Project Manager will plan, manage, and deliver IT projects by maintaining project schedules
in Microsoft Project, including dependencies, milestones, and resources. The role involves applying SDLC methodologies, managing risks and issues, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely project delivery. Responsibilities include preparing status reports, communicating technical updates, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and leadership to align project goals and execution.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Build, manage, and maintain the full project schedule in Microsoft Project, including dependencies, critical path, milestones, and resources.
• Apply SDLC processes (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) to manage requirements, development, testing, and deployment.
• Communicate technical concepts and system impacts clearly to all stakeholders.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, scope changes, and project governance activities.
• Prepare status reports, dashboards, and executive-level updates.
• Partner closely with the Senior Program Manager to ensure alignment on timelines, priorities, and strategy.
Minimum Qualifications Required
• 7–10+ years of technical project management experience,
• Expert proficiency with MS Project schedule creation and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and project governance.
• Ability to interpret technical information and work effectively with senior leaders and diverse teams.
Minimum Qualifications Preferred
• Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, PRINCE2, or similar.
• Experience with one or more modernization (legacy replacement) and/or government/HHS projects.
