🚀 Working Title: Staff Aug - Network Service

I.  DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Texas Department of Public Safety requires the services of 1 Telecommunications Manager 2, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Telecommunications Manager 2, Networking/Telecommunications and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

·         Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms
·         Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability
·         Serve as escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues
·         Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security-focused functions
·         Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including:
·         SD-WAN implementation and optimization
·         Network monitoring and observability tools (e.g., ThousandEyes, AppDynamics)
·         ecurity integrations (e.g., Secure Workload, NGFW, identity services)
·         Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts
·         Ensure compliance with Agency security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
·         Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals
·         Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives
·         Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership
·         Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures
·         Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager
