Sr. DevOps Engineer

Job Description:

Level of Education and Discipline

• A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent education, training, or experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Years of Experience:

• Equivalent years of education and training, with at least eight (8) or more years of progressively responsible DevOps or platform engineering experience.

Type of Experience

The ideal candidate will have solid DevOps engineering experience with deep expertise in cloud migration, containerization, and enterprise-scale platform modernisation, including:

Core DevOps Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins for multiple software products.
• Document, design, and improve DevOps processes, infrastructure-as-code practices, and deployment standards.
• Integrate functional, load, and automated test suites into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and manage pipelines to promote "Golden Builds" across Dev, QA, Stage, and Production environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, deployment, and performance issues across multi-tier, distributed systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define DevOps tooling automation requirements.
• Administer, customise, and optimise CI/CD tools, including Jenkins and supporting plugins.
• Automate configuration, orchestration, and provisioning using Puppet, Ansible or related tools.

Cloud Migration & Modernisation (New Focus Area – Strongly Required)

Candidates must have extensive, hands-on experience in:

• Migrating applications and services from on-premise infrastructure to cloud environments (public or private).
• Refactoring or re-platforming legacy applications into containerised deployments (Docker/Podman).
• Designing, deploying, and managing applications on OpenShift (required) or Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Building and maintaining container CI/CD workflows, including image scanning, artefact management, and GitOps-style delivery.

Operating Systems & Platform Skills(Strongly Required)

• Strong, hands-on experience with RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) administration, tuning, and automation.
• Experience configuring and administering OpenShift clusters, including operators, routes, persistent storage, and security policies.
• Linux/Windows cross-platform experience in enterprise environments.

Hands-On Technical Skills (Strongly Desired)

• Proficiency in Python development for automation and tooling.
• Scripting languages including Bash, PowerShell, Groovy, Go, and Perl.
• Expertise with CI/CD tooling such as Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, and integration with DevOps ecosystems.
• Experience with Atlassian suite tools: Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence.
• Experience with configuration management and orchestration tools:

Puppet, Ansible, Airflow.

• Deep familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle, CI/CD patterns, and customising DevOps toolchains.

Additional Preferred Experience

• DevOps monitoring and observability tools, especially in containerised environments, such as Splunk.
• DevSecOps tools, including JFrog X-Ray, SonarQube, and container security scanning solutions.
