Sr. Database Developer

• Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and execution plan analysis
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes for data integration
• Ensure data integrity, security, and availability
• Collaborate with application developers to design efficient data access layers
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and production issues
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Support data warehousing and reporting solutions
• Mentor junior developers and enforce database best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 6+ years of database development experience
• Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
• Experience with database design, normalization, and indexing strategies
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning and query optimization
• Knowledge of ETL tools and data integration techniques
• Familiarity with transactions, locking, and concurrency control
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Experience with data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Shell)
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of data governance and security best practices
