Sr Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend-heavy full-stack systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and Golang
• Build and operate REST-based microservices running on AWS Lambda and containerized services on Amazon ECS
• Participate in platform modernization efforts, including migration from serverless to container-based architectures
• Develop and manage container images using Amazon ECR, Docker (plus)
• Own infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, Serverless Framework.
• Manage and deploy AWS resources and new services using Terraform
• Integrate backend services with AWS managed services such as DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, and API Gateway
• Implement secure configuration management using AWS Parameter Store and Secrets Manager
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI and GitHub Actions
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support production systems, including on-call responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with frontend teams and contribute to JavaScript codebases when required
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, performance, and security best practices

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js
• Hands-on experience with Golang (Python is a plus)
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud services, including Lambda, ECS, ECR, EC2, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kinesis, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, Route 53
• Proven experience managing AWS infrastructure using Terraform
• Experience with Terraform, Serverless Framework.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and REST APIs
• Experience building and operating production systems
• Familiarity with containerization and deployment workflows
• Solid understanding of CI/CD best practices
