SQL Data Engineers

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using SQL-based workflows
• Write complex, optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT)
• Build and manage data warehouses and data marts
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
• Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning
• Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and BI teams
• Integrate data from multiple sources (APIs, files, databases)
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues
• Maintain documentation for data models and pipelines

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
• Strong proficiency in SQL (advanced level)
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts
• Familiarity with data modeling (star/snowflake schemas)
• Basic programming knowledge (Python, Shell scripting)
• Experience with Git/version control
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Amazon Redshift)
• Familiarity with ETL tools (Apache Airflow, Informatica, Talend, dbt)
• Knowledge of big data tools (Apache Spark, Hadoop)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Understanding of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
• Exposure to data governance and security practices
