Hiring: Software Engineer 3 (Mainframe / zOS)
📍 Location: Remote (Client location: Austin, TX)
🕒 Duration: 02/02/2026 – 08/31/2026
💼 Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM CST
💰 Pay Rate: $85.00 – $90.00/hr (Negotiable)
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer 3 with strong Mainframe and z/OS administration expertise to support enterprise-level systems in a secure, high-availability environment.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
Serve as SME for Top Secret Security (TSS) administration ensuring data security and compliance
Provide primary support for z/OS operating systems and system components
Support ISV products including BlueZone terminal emulator
Diagnose system and platform issues with root cause analysis
Support Mainframe Production Control, job scheduling, and batch processing
🔹 Required Skills & Experience:
8+ years hands-on experience with TSS (Top Secret Security)
5+ years experience in z/OS Administration
Strong knowledge of JES2, OMVS (z/OS UNIX), SMS
Experience with TLS/SSL configurations, certificates, SFTP/FTPS
Solid understanding of JCL, TSO, VSAM, SMP/E, RMF, SMF, WLM
🔹 Preferred Skills:
Experience with REXX scripting
Performance monitoring and analysis
Informatica PowerExchange Administration
Knowledge of JOBTRAC, VTAM, TCP/IP, GRS, and scheduling tools
