Job Title: Senior power BI Developer 

Position: Hybrid

Location: Charlotte,NC

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and Maintain Power BI Reports & Dashboards:
* Design interactive and visually appealing reports using Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service.
* Implement complex DAX calculations, measures, and data transformations.
* Ensure data accuracy, performance optimization, and usability of dashboards.
* Data Modeling & ETL:
* Design and implement star schema and snowflake data models in Power BI.
* Work with Power Query (M language) for data cleansing and transformation.
* Develop efficient ETL workflows to prepare data for analysis.
* SQL & Data Engineering:
* Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and aggregation.
* Optimize query performance for large datasets.
* Collaborate with database administrators & data engineers to integrate Power BI with various data sources (SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Databricks, APIs, etc.).
* Azure & Databricks Exposure (Nice to Have):
* Understand Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, and Azure Databricks for data processing.
* Assist in integrating Power BI with Azure-based data pipelines.
* Work with Apache Spark or Delta Lake for data transformation (if applicable).
* Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication:
* Gather business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into BI solutions.
* Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to drive data-driven decisions.
* Provide documentation, training, and support to end-users on Power BI best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in Power BI development.
* Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.
* Expertise in SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake).
* Experience in performance tuning & optimizing Power BI reports.
* Knowledge of Power BI Service, Gateways, Row-Level Security (RLS), and workspace management.
* Ability to work with REST APIs, JSON, or data connectors.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
* Exposure to Azure Data Services (Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake).
* Basic understanding of Azure Databricks and PySpark.
* Experience with CI/CD for Power BI reports (using DevOps or Power BI Deployment Pipelines).
* Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics.

Education & Certifications:
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
* Microsoft Power BI certification (PL-300) is a plus.
* Azure-related certifications (DP-203, DP-900, or AZ-104) are a plus.
