We have an immediate requirement for a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in enterprise database administration, cloud migration, automation, and performance optimization.

Duration: 6+ Months with Possible Extension
Rate: $65/hr C2C
Visa: USC / H4 EAD / L2 EAD / GC EAD (No H1B/OPT/CPT)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DBA with hands-on experience managing and optimizing enterprise databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar RDBMS platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong database development and automation experience, along with expertise in Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize highly available and scalable database solutions.
• Administer PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and other enterprise RDBMS platforms.
• Plan and execute database migrations, including on-premises to AWS RDS/Aurora, version upgrades, schema migrations, and platform migrations.
• Develop and maintain database automation scripts and tools using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and configuration automation using Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain database monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure database reliability, security, and scalability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development and engineering teams.
• Maintain database architecture, processes, procedures, and technical documentation.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar RDBMS.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS and Amazon Aurora.
• Experience with database provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, SQL optimization, indexing, locks, blocking, and deadlocks.
• Strong scripting experience with Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Experience with schema migrations, data migrations, and cross-platform database migrations.
• Strong knowledge of backup, restore, high availability, disaster recovery, and database security.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar tools.
• Exposure to Azure SQL or Google Cloud SQL is a plus.

Qualifications:

• 8–10+ years of experience in database administration, database development, automation, or technical leadership.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and automating database solutions in enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience mentoring developers or technical team members.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
