Job Title: Senior Data Engineer (12+ Years Experience)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA / Austin, TX
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days/week onsite)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer with 12+ years of experience to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in big data technologies, cloud platforms, and modern data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
• Build and optimize data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts
• Work with large-scale distributed systems and big data frameworks
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional teams
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards
• Optimize data processing performance and cost efficiency
• Implement real-time and batch data processing solutions
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide long-term fixes
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Big Data
• Strong proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java
• Expertise in SQL and data modeling
• Hands-on experience with big data tools like:
  • Apache Spark
  • Hadoop ecosystem
  • Apache Kafka
• Experience with cloud platforms:
  • AWS / Azure / GCP
• Strong experience with:
  • Data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
  • ETL tools (Airflow, Informatica, dbt)
• Knowledge of data architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and version control (Git)
