Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Healthcare Data, SQL optimization, ETL processes, and Java-based application development. This role will be responsible for supporting and enhancing critical software applications within the healthcare analytics platform while working closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and project leadership.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with large healthcare datasets, relational databases, data processing workflows, and enterprise application development. This individual will play a key role in maintaining system performance, improving scalability, and delivering high-quality solutions that support business and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and enhance software applications and data processing components within the healthcare product suite.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve software and data-related issues reported by internal and external stakeholders.
- Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and ETL processes.
- Work with large-scale healthcare datasets to support analytics, reporting, and operational workflows.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, designs, and operational procedures.
- Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
- Collaborate with onshore and offshore development teams, business users, project managers, and technical leadership.
- Ensure adherence to software development standards, best practices, and organizational policies.
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven experience working with healthcare data and healthcare analytics environments.
- Strong experience working with large datasets and high-volume data processing systems.
- Expertise in relational databases and data management solutions.
- Extensive experience designing and supporting ETL processes.
- Advanced SQL development and performance tuning skills.
- Experience optimizing Oracle queries, stored procedures, triggers, and database performance.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
