šŸ” Position Overview

The Department’s OIT is seeking an experienced Security AnalystĀ (Advanced Information Security Analyst) to work on-site.


Ā 

Required (Must-Have) Skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of experienceĀ in server and network administration
  • Minimum 3+ years of experienceĀ in information security administrationĀ within enterprise environments (1,000+ users)
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experienceĀ with SIEM tools
  • Minimum 3+ years of experienceĀ in vulnerability management and remediation
  • Minimum 2+ years of experienceĀ in technical implementation and deployment of security solutions
  • Strong expertise in firewalls, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), and network security
  • Experience with encryption technologies and endpoint security solutions
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft security technologies, including Azure and Active Directory
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM)Ā concepts and implementation
  • Experience in threat detection, incident response, and root cause analysis
  • Strong understanding of security risks, techniques, and multi-platform environments
  • Experience supporting and managing third-party antivirus solutions
  • Working knowledge of security compliance and governance (GRC frameworks)

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

  • Experience working with advanced IDS/IPS systems
  • Hands-on experience with Office 365 Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • Experience with Microsoft security toolsĀ such as Azure Security Center and Microsoft Defender
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory security and administration
  • Familiarity with CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) compliance requirements
  • Experience working with state or federal security regulationsĀ (preferably in Florida)
  • Exposure to law enforcement or public sector security environments
  • Experience preparing security reports and delivering management briefings
  • Knowledge of security audits, compliance reviews, and gap remediation
  • Experience in security process improvement and reengineering
  • Exposure to cloud security practices, particularly in Microsoft Azure environments

SCOPE OF WORK / JOB CHARACTERISTICS

The Advanced Information Security AnalystĀ is responsible for leading the technical implementation of security projects, focusing on system hardening, network security, and identity management, while collaborating with teams to meet law enforcement-specific security standards.

The role requires hands-on expertise in firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), encryption, and secure Microsoft configurations, along with conducting vulnerability assessments and remediation strategies.

The analyst will manage security tools, threat detection, and incident response, ensuring integration of security platforms. Compliance with CJIS and State of Florida regulationsĀ is critical, along with collaboration with GRC teamsĀ to address audit gaps.

Additionally, the role includes documentation, training, process optimization, and staying updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies.

Project Implementation

• LeadĀ the technical implementation of security projects, including system hardening, network security, encryption tools, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and IAMĀ within Microsoft and Azure environments
• CollaborateĀ with cross-functional teams to deploy solutions aligned with law enforcement security standards
• Ensure timely deliveryĀ of projects while maintaining scope, timeline, and budget compliance

Technical Expertise

• Provide hands-on expertise in firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, endpoint protection, and secure Microsoft configurations
• Implement secure architectureĀ and networking solutions in Microsoft Azure
• Conduct vulnerability assessmentsĀ and develop remediation strategiesĀ to improve security posture

Security Tools and Platforms

• Configure and manage SIEM systems, Microsoft Azure Security Center, and endpoint security solutions
• Ensure integration of security platformsĀ and support threat detection, prevention, and incident response

Incident Response

• Design and maintainĀ incident response procedures tailored for law enforcement environments
• Perform root cause analysisĀ and implement effective remediation measures

Security Compliance

• Ensure adherence to CJIS, State regulations, and security compliance standards
• Work closely with GRC teamsĀ to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
• Support security audits, including CJIS reviews, and address identified gaps

Documentation and Training

• Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation and processesĀ aligned with CJIS requirements
• Provide training and awareness programsĀ for IT staff on security protocols

Processes Implementation and Reengineering

• Design and optimizeĀ security processes to improve efficiency, compliance, and risk mitigation
• Reengineer existing processesĀ to enhance system integrity and workflow alignmentĀ in Microsoft/Azure environments

Collaboration and Support

• Work with IT operations and development teamsĀ to integrate security into systems
• Provide troubleshooting and cybersecurity support, especially in Microsoft/Azure environments
• Stay updated on emerging threats, technologies, and compliance requirements

Additional Notes

• This position is designated as ā€œessential staffā€Ā and may require reporting during emergency situations
• Security Awareness TrainingĀ must be completed within 30 days of hire
• A Level II Background CheckĀ is mandatory
