SAP Solution Architect With Variant Configuration Expertise

Job Role:-           SAP Solution Architect – VC- Variant Configuration expertise

Location:-           Fremont, CA( Hybrid look for locals)

Mode of Hire:-   Fulltime / Contract 

Required skills:

• Experience in optimizing configuration model performance through efficient dependency design, ensuring fast processing during order execution.
• Strong capability in handling multi-level and complex product configurations, including parent-child relationships across assemblies.
• Expertise in designing and managing Object Dependencies and Variant BOM (OBOM) to ensure accurate component selection during production.
• Good understanding of integration with Production Planning (PP), including BOM explosion, routing selection, and manufacturing execution.
• Experience in data migration and transformation, especially transitioning from LO-VC to AVC.
• Exposure to integration with front-end or third-party systems.
• The consultant will analyze complex business problems and help define the solution within the SAP VC integrating with Sales, Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics and Finance.
• Identify gaps and provide technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications and scale new and current systems, processes and procedures in a cost-effective manner.
• Analyze and propose improvements to existing VC models and/or design and define new VC models; plan and execute unit and cycle testing in a cross-functional environment.
• Lead cross-functional project discussions including Technical team, Functional team and Business Functions as needed.
• Specific emphasis on design and development of very complex VC models using multi-level BOM, Routing; act as a solution architect and analyst as required.
• Integrating PLM system such as Siemens Team Center with the ERP system such as SAP ECC or S/4 system.
• Perform hands-on solution design, prototyping, proof-of-concepts, process design and development tasks as required in support of current and new projects.
• Creation of class, characteristics, values, config profiles, dependencies, pfunctions for creation of VC Models with RT KBV.
• Accurately translate and documents business requirements into functional specifications to solve business problems
• Prioritize business requirements and recommend changes to multiple business processes.
• Assess the risks of various solutions looking across multiple applications
• Clearly articulate the impact of business problems and benefits using business language
• Validate successful integration of VC Models from Siemens Team Center and/or SAP ECC to SAP S/4.
• Work to ensure that the VC model replication is successful from SAP S/4 to SAP ECC, using PDR & ALE method.
• Work with technical team & transformation partner on successful exact replication of SAP ECC Order/OBOM to SAP S/4 Order/OBOM with all the master and transaction data, especially the product configuration and pricing components.
• Work on ensuring the order change management works seamlessly from SAP ECC Order to SAP S/4 Order.
• Validate the SAP S/4 Inquiry is converted successfully to SAP S/4 Sales Order along with the subsequent order changes.
• Work with technical team on successful creation of SAP ECC Sales Order from SAP S/4 Purchase Order with all the master and transaction data including the product configuration and pricing components, as applicable.
• Work on ensuring the order change management works seamlessly from SAP S/4 Purchase Order to SAP ECC Sales Order.
• Work on creation of Order BOM from the Sales Order, and the subsequent Order BOM updates.
• Work with the technical team to apply the Non-Std Requests (NSR) throughout the order change process coming through the NSR process and/or NSR Fiori application.
