Job Description: We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Architect to design and govern the enterprise SAP data foundation. This role will define how SAP systems store, share, and manage trusted data to support analytics, AI, and enterprise initiatives while protecting core transactional systems. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in SAP data domains, strong data governance experience, and the ability to align cross-functional teams around a shared data vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the SAP enterprise data foundation, defining how data is stored, shared, governed, and managed across SAP systems.
• Develop reference data architectures by collaborating with application, analytics, integration, platform, and security teams.
• Enable analytics and AI use cases by ensuring SAP data is consistent, governed, discoverable, and reusable.
• Leverage SAP Business Data Cloud, Datasphere, MDG, BW, and related platforms to unify data and eliminate redundant data copies.
• Define and maintain common data models and catalogs to establish a shared understanding of core business data.
• Evolve enterprise data governance standards, including data ownership, metadata management, lineage, and quality.
• Protect core SAP transactional systems by minimizing excessive data replication and extraction workloads.
• Participate in Architecture Review Board (ARB) discussions, constructively challenging and improving solution designs.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of SAP master data and transactional data domains.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • SAP MDG (Master Data Governance)
  • SAP Business Data Cloud
  • SAP Datasphere
  • SAP BW / BW on HANA
• Expertise in:
  • Data modeling
  • Metadata management
  • Data quality frameworks
  • Data governance practices
• Solid understanding of data architectures supporting analytics, AI, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience integrating SAP data with non-SAP analytics and reporting platforms.
• Experience working with SAP ECC environments.

Soft Skills & Competencies

• Strong ability to align data, analytics, and engineering teams around a shared data strategy.
• Excellent facilitation skills to resolve data ownership, definition, and governance conflicts.
• Clear and confident communicator, able to explain architectural decisions, trade-offs, and cost impacts.
• Pragmatic mindset focused on value delivery, reuse, and simplification.
• Comfortable providing constructive feedback and challenging designs in ARB reviews.
