SAP Consultant

An SAP IS-U Device Management (DM) Consultant manages the technical lifecycle of utility metering devices (installation, inspection, removal) within the SAP IS-U module, integrating with Billing and AMI

They configure device-related processes, manage meter reading, and ensure data accuracy to streamline utility operations.

Responsibilities:

• Device Lifecycle Management: Configure and manage meter installations, removals, replacements, and inspections.
• AMI/MDM Integration: Handle Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Meter Data Management (MDM) integration for smart metering leveraging the SAP MDUS framework.
• System Configuration: Configure Technical Master Data (TMD) and Business Master Data (BMD) to align with utility operations.
• Process Optimization: Manage billing-related device processes, including meter reading, validation, and estimation.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Resolve functional issues related to field services, move-in/move-out, and BPEM (Business Process Exception Management).
• Integration: Ensure seamless data flow between Device Management and Billing (BI), Invoicing (INV), and FICA modules.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
• Experience: 5–10+ years in SAP IS-U, with specific expertise in Device Management, preferably in S/4HANA environments.
• Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of regulated/deregulated utility markets (Electricity, Gas, Water).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ALE/IDOCs, BAPIs, and Functional Specifications.
• Implementation Experience: At least one full-cycle implementation of SAP IS-U Device Management.
