Rust Engineer/Developer

Position: Rust Engineer/Developer
Location: Austin, TX (Onsite)
Duration: Long term Contract

Core Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend or big data technologies.
• Strong proficiency in a systems programming language such as Rust or Java (including asynchronous programming, e.g., Tokio)
• Deep, hands-on experience with high-volume, distributed messaging systems, particularly Apache Kafka.
• Proven track record of building and operating large-scale, mission-critical data pipelines or backend services in a production environment.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT design patterns, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with data serialization formats like Avro, Parquet, or JSON.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native technologies and experience deploying services to cloud environments like AWS using containerization (Docker).
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker, Gradle).
