Job Title: QA Lead – Life Insurance (Manual & Automation) 
Location: Erie, PA 
Client: Erie Insurance


Role Overview 
We are seeking a seasoned QA Lead with strong expertise in both manual and automation testing to lead quality engineering efforts for Life Insurance applications.

Key Responsibilities 
Quality Leadership & Strategy 
Lead QA across multiple initiatives ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices 
Define and implement test strategies (manual & automation) aligned with release cycles 
Drive shift-left testing to reduce defect leakage 
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across QA processes 

Functional & E2E Testing 
Lead end-to-end testing across Life Insurance workflows including: 
Policy lifecycle (quote → issuance → servicing) 
State-specific form generation and compliance validation 
Data validation across upstream/downstream systems 
Validate: 
File-based and batch processing integrations 
API-based integrations with external vendor systems 
Data reconciliation for return flows 

Automation & Tools 
Drive test automation using: 
Selenium (UI automation) 
API automation frameworks 
Perform integration and API testing using tools such as: 
SOAP UI 
Validate UI/form rendering and visual correctness using: 
Applitools (visual testing for forms & compliance validation) 
Use: 
JIRA for test and defect management 
ServiceNow for incident/ticket tracking 
Leverage Excel Macros for: 
Data comparison and reconciliation 
Bulk data validations across systems/files 

Metrics, Reporting & Governance 
Produce and present: 
QE performance metrics 
Release quality dashboards 
Defect leakage and trend analysis 
Provide daily/weekly status reporting with risks and mitigation plans 
Establish measurable KPIs for quality and delivery 

Stakeholder Management & UAT 
Coordinate with Business stakeholders for UAT planning and execution 
Clearly articulate test outcomes, risks, and readiness 
Act as a bridge between QA, Development, BA, and Business teams 

Quality Engineering Best Practices 
Proactively reduce production defect leakage through strong validation strategies 
Ensure traceability across requirements, test cases, and defects 
Recommend and implement process improvements 

Required Skills & Experience 
Core Experience 
10+ years of QA experience; 3–5+ years in QA Lead role 
Strong experience in Manual + Automation Testing 
Experience in Life Insurance domain (preferred/strong advantage) 

Technical Skills 
Automation: Selenium (mandatory) 
Integration testing tools: SOAP UI 
Visual testing: Applitools 
Test management: JIRA 
ITSM: ServiceNow 
Data validation: Excel macros, data comparison techniques 
Strong knowledge of: 
API testing 
File/batch processing validation 
Database validation 

Domain Expertise 
Understanding of Life Insurance systems and workflows 
Experience with: 
Regulatory/state compliance forms 
Policy administration systems 
Third-party vendor integrations 

Soft Skills 
Strong communication & stakeholder management 
Ability to articulate complex issues clearly 
Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven 
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams 

Preferred Qualifications 
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies 
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines 
Certifications (nice to have): ISTQB, Agile Testing
