QA Automation Lead (Katalon Or Playwrite Exp.)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manual/Automation Tester with strong expertise in the Payments domain, especially around US banking payment systems and ISO message upgrades. The role involves testing the Money Transfer System (MTS) and related payment applications to ensure functional accuracy, performance stability, and regulatory compliance.

This position requires solid automation experience using Katalon or Playwright and the capability to act as an Onsite Coordinator/Lead, working closely with customers, business users, and technical teams to facilitate smooth delivery. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks for payment applications using Katalon or Playwright.
• Validate the reliability, performance, and functional accuracy of MTS, RPI, and other payment-related systems.
• Create and maintain functional test cases, scripts, structured test data, and validation documents.
• Execute manual and automated tests, analyze outcomes, and present results clearly to stakeholders.
• Identify, log, and track defects; collaborate with developers and support teams for timely resolution.
• Perform smoke, functional, system integration, regression, and end to end testing across payment flows.
• Engage with business analysts, developers, and cross functional teams to clarify requirements and ensure full test coverage.
• Lead onsite coordination, working closely with customers on daily interactions, requirement clarifications, walkthroughs, status updates, and delivery acceptance.
• Demonstrate strong stakeholder collaboration, building alignment across cross functional teams and ensuring expectations are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in manual and automation testing within the Payments domain.
• Experience with payment systems like MTS, GPF, and RPI.
• Strong working knowledge of SWIFT MT1xx/MT2xx, FED messages, and ISO formats such as pain, pacs, camt.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies.
• Skilled in designing and executing test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
• Experience using defect tracking tools such as JIRA, qTest, or similar.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work as an onsite customer-facing lead.
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Hands on experience with Katalon or Playwright automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks in banking and financial services.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent.
