Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Storage Administrator to manage and support enterprise storage environments on mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in storage management, performance optimization, and ensuring high availability of critical data systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage mainframe storage environments
• Monitor and optimize storage performance and capacity
• Configure and maintain storage systems such as DASD, tape libraries, and virtual storage
• Perform allocation, migration, and backup/recovery of datasets
• Support Disaster Recovery (DR) and business continuity planning
• Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues
• Implement storage policies, standards, and procedures
• Collaborate with system programmers, application teams, and infrastructure teams
• Perform upgrades, patching, and maintenance of storage systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in mainframe storage administration
• Strong experience with IBM Mainframe (z/OS) environments
• Hands-on experience with:
  • DFSMS (Data Facility Storage Management Subsystem)
  • SMS (Storage Management Subsystem)
  • DASD and tape management
• Knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF utilities
• Experience with backup and recovery tools
• Understanding of storage performance tuning and capacity planning
