Mainframe Developer/Tester

Job Description:
Mainframe Developer/Tester role (primarily development with some testing experience). This will be a hybrid position based in Columbus, OH.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL applications running on IBM Mainframe platforms.
Develop and support online and batch applications using CICS, JCL, and VSAM.
Create, modify, and optimize batch jobs using JCL, SORT, and utilities.
Work with VSAM datasets and flat files, including file layouts, access methods, and performance tuning.
Use SCLM for source control, versioning, and promotion across environments.
Interact with schedulers (CA7) to design, troubleshoot, and optimize batch job flows.
Support file processing and analysis using tools such as File Manager.
Perform impact analysis, root cause analysis, and production support for mainframe applications.
Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and upstream/downstream teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Follow enterprise coding standards, documentation practices, and change management processes.
Perform unit testing, system testing, and integration testing for mainframe applications.
Develop and execute test cases for COBOL, CICS, and batch programs.
Validate data integrity across files, VSAM datasets, and interfaces.
Identify, analyze, and resolve defects; work closely with QA and business teams for issue resolution.
Support production validation, regression testing, and post-implementation verification.

Experience
8+ years of experience in mainframe application development and support
Strong experience working in large-scale enterprise systems
Proven ability to work independently on complex modules and production issues
Experience supporting mission-critical applications with high availability requirements
