We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in Mainframe, COBOL, DB2, and Java Modernization for an onsite contract opportunity in Jersey City, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining legacy mainframe applications while contributing to modernization initiatives involving Java technologies.

Required Skills
Strong experience in Mainframe Development
Expertise in COBOL
Hands-on experience with DB2
Experience with JCL
Knowledge of CICS
Experience in Java Modernization and legacy application migration
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
Experience working in enterprise production support and development environments
Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain Mainframe applications.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
Support modernization initiatives by integrating or migrating Mainframe applications to Java-based solutions.
Optimize DB2 queries and application performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Ensure high-quality code through reviews and adherence to coding standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Java-based application development.
Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience in Banking or Financial Services is a plus.
