Mainframe admin DB2 for z/OS Specialist

Role Summary: 

Responsible for the administration, performance tuning, and support of IBM DB2 databases running on z/OS mainframe environments. This may include daily operational activities, software upgrades, and more complex project work.

Key Responsibilities:

•⁠  ⁠Install, configure, and maintain DB2 subsystems on z/OS

•⁠  ⁠Perform DB2 version upgrades and apply maintenance (PTFs/APARs)

•⁠  ⁠Monitor and tune DB2 performance using tools such as Omegamon for DB2

•⁠  ⁠Manage database objects (tablespaces, indexes, buffer pools)

•⁠  ⁠Support backup, recovery, and high availability configurations (data sharing, HADR)

•⁠  ⁠Assist application teams with SQL optimization and schema changes

•⁠  ⁠Respond to and resolve DB2-related incidents and service requests
