Lead Python Full Stack Developer - Ameriprise
Location: Boston, Massachusetts (Must work onsite from Day 1)

Duration: Initial 6 months contract to start with

Role Overview: Seeking a senior Full Stack Developer (Lead) with strong Python expertise and at least 15+ years of software engineering experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a lead technical role. The lead will guide technical discussions, perform code reviews, define best practices, train and mentor developers, and work closely with business and IT teams. This is a technical leadership role without direct people-management responsibilities.

Must-have Skills & Experience
15+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a lead role
Strong Python expertise (backend)
Experience in either Java or .NET
Financial Services experience required
Front-end: primarily React (~70%) and some Angular (~30%); candidate background split is acceptable
Proven ability to lead business discussions, conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor other developers
Senior-level communicator comfortable interfacing with both business and IT stakeholders
Nice-to-Have
Asset Management domain experience
AWS
CI/CD pipelines and tooling
Snowflake
