Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-scale backend applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Java, Microservices, Spring Boot, and experience working in the Retail domain, preferably with large retailers such as Kroger, Walmart, Target, Costco, or similar organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable backend applications and microservices.
Architect and develop high-performance RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
Collaborate with product owners, architects, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver business solutions.
Drive technical discussions, code reviews, and best practices across the development team.
Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
Participate in system design, architecture reviews, and production support activities.
Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership.
Work in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Required Skills
10+ years of software development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17.
Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Microservices Architecture.
Strong experience developing REST APIs and backend services.
Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms.
Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
Experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and related development tools.
Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications
Retail domain experience is mandatory.
Candidates with experience at Kroger, Walmart, Target, Costco, Home Depot, Walgreens, CVS, or other large retail organizations are highly preferred.
Experience with eCommerce, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Order Management, or Retail Operations platforms is a plus.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
