The Lead Systems Analyst is responsible for leading and executing complex technology and automation initiatives that support evolving business needs within the finance domain. This role collaborates with business stakeholders and IT teams to deliver innovative, efficient, and scalable system solutions.

The position focuses on:

  • Product and application lifecycle management
  • Business and system requirements analysis
  • Testing and quality assurance
  • Vendor and stakeholder management 

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirements & Solution Design

  • Gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
  • Develop user stories, use cases, and system designs
  • Act as a liaison between Finance stakeholders and IT teams
  • Provide leadership in solution design and system implementation
  • May act as Scrum Master when required 

 

2. Testing & Quality Assurance 

  • Design and execute functional and regression testing strategies
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and testing timelines
  • Lead cross-functional testing efforts (UAT, integration, performance, security)  
  • Prepare test data, execute test cases, and document results
  • Track, report, and resolve defects 

 

3. Application & Product Management (30%)

  • Develop and manage application roadmaps aligned with business strategy
  • Identify system improvements, innovation opportunities, and efficiencies
  • Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders
  • Define and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Manage software vendors and ensure delivery meets expectations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives 

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in business and IT meetings
  • Contribute to best practices, policies, and process improvements
  • Support organisational core values and safety standards
  • Perform other assigned duties 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Level of Education and Discipline: 

A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent education, training or experience in Information Technology, Management of Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance or related field. Master’s Degree preferred. 

 

Amount of Experience: 

Equivalent years of education and training, plus six (6) or more years of related experience. 

 

Certifications: 

Business process modelling, requirements management certification, and/or other relevant technical certifications, such as CBAP, CSQE, CSQA, are desirable Oracle Financials background is strongly preferred. 

 

Type of Experience: 

  • Experience executing traceable software testing, development, system analysis, and business requirements analysis. System architecture (application and/or data architecture) experience.
  • Experience managing software vendors. Leadership, customer service and/or project management experience is a plus.
  • Deep Expertise in Finance and strongly prefer expertise in Oracle Financials.
  • Energy industry experience preferred.
