Kong Developer

🔍 Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Kong API Gateway Developer with Full Stack .NET experience to join our team in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in API management using Kong along with hands-on experience building and maintaining full-stack .NET applications. This role involves working on scalable, secure, and high-performance API-driven systems in a microservices environment.

💼 Key Responsibilities
✅ Design, develop, and manage Kong API Gateway configurations, plugins, and routing
✅ Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices using .NET Core / .NET 6+
✅ Manage API lifecycle including authentication, authorization, traffic control, monitoring, and versioning
✅ Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, product, and QA teams to deliver scalable solutions
✅ Optimize application performance and ensure high availability
✅ Develop frontend components using Angular / React / Blazor
✅ Implement API security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, API keys)
✅ Troubleshoot API gateway, integration, and application issues
✅ Work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
✅ Document API contracts, technical designs, and best practices

🧠 Required Skills & Qualifications
✔️ 3–6 years of overall software development experience
✔️ Strong hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway (or Apigee, AWS API Gateway, MuleSoft)
✔️ Proficiency in C#, .NET Core / .NET 6+, Web API, Entity Framework
✔️ Experience with frontend frameworks (Angular, React, or Blazor)
✔️ Strong understanding of microservices architecture
✔️ Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
✔️ Solid knowledge of RESTful API design and API-first development
✔️ Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
✔️ Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
✔️ Cloud experience (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP a plus)
✔️ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
