JIRA Support Engineer / JIRA Administrator

Role Overview:

The Jira Support Engineer will be responsible for administering, configuring, and supporting Jira environments for business and technical teams. This role requires strong Jira administration capabilities, including automation and scripting, along with solid organizational and communication skills to ensure smooth operations and user support.

Technical Skills

• Hands‑on experience with Jira administration (5+ years preferred).
• Strong understanding of Jira workflows, schemes, permission management, and configurations.
• Experience in Jira automation (Automation for Jira, Script Runner, or similar).
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Groovy, JavaScript, or Python is a plus.
• Basic understanding of Confluence integration is preferred.

Organizational & Functional Skills

• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to understand business processes and map them into Jira workflows.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Experience managing discrepancies between user expectations, resumes, and actual capabilities (helpful for screening/support roles).
