Job Description
Title: IT Systems Engineer III
Duration: 12 Months with possible Extension/Hire
Location: Portland, OR 97218 (Hybrid 3 Days Onsite Tue, Wed & Thurs)
Interview Mode: 1st Round Virtual & Second Round Onsite
The role of IT Systems Engineer III will require the following:
• Deploy, administer, and maintain Linux and Microsoft server environments.
• Deploy, administer and support AWS core services, including EC2, VPC, S3, and RDS.
• Implement and support Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Monitor, triage, and resolve escalated IT system infrastructure incidents and service requests.
• Design and engineer IT systems supporting all aspects of enterprise application delivery, including servers, application processes, IP addressing, firewall rules, certificates, authentication, service accounts, load balancers, WAFs, ALBs, DNS, DHCP, client connectivity, and public/private access pathways.
• Create, update, and maintain IT system standards, application workflows, operating procedures, runbooks, and technical architecture documentation.
• Apply strong analytical skills, pattern recognition, and infrastructure implementation strategies to improve system reliability and performance.
• Use the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio) for documentation, analysis, and diagramming.
• Leverage scripting and automation skills (PowerShell and/or Python) to develop new scripts, enhance automation, and troubleshoot existing code.
• Utilize source control tools and concepts (e.g., GitHub) for versioning, collaboration, and code management.
• Promote and adhere to repeatable processes, architectural standards, and design models to support consistent and scalable solutions.
• Serve as an inclusive team member and trusted advisor to peers, partners, and stakeholders.
• Provide L3-level expertise, serving as the final escalation point for complex break fix and troubleshooting scenarios.
• ServiceNow work queues.
• Oversee escalated service requests and incidents, ensuring system health, stability, and compliance with operational standards.
• Create, update, streamline, and maintain operating procedures, runbooks, and infrastructure diagrams to ensure accuracy and sustainability.
• Apply strong analytical and pattern recognition skills to troubleshoot issues and contribute to strategic infrastructure design and implementation.
• Use Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio) to document processes, analyze data, and produce technical deliverables.
• Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot automation and scripts using PowerShell or Python apply automation concepts to improve operational efficiency.
• Utilize source control tools and adhere to version control best practices for scripts, documentation, and configuration files.
• Advocate for and apply repeatable processes, standardized architecture, and model driven system design.
• Act as an inclusive team collaborator and trusted technical advisor within the IT infrastructure group.
• Provide depth of expertise by serving as an L3 escalation point for complex break fix issues and advanced troubleshooting.
