Integration Developer (Healthcare Apis & Interface Engines)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Integration Developer with strong expertise in HTTP APIs / Web Services and healthcare data integration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with interface engines like Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect) or Rhapsody, along with a solid understanding of HL7 and FHIR standards.

This role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting integrations across EHR/EMR systems, ensuring seamless and secure data exchange in healthcare environments.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain healthcare integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and HTTP services
• Build and manage interfaces using Mirth Connect / Rhapsody
• Develop and support HL7 interfaces (ADT, ORM, ORU message types)
• Implement and consume FHIR-based APIs for modern healthcare systems
• Perform data transformation and mapping between HL7, JSON, and XML formats
• Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance
• Collaborate with EHR/EMR stakeholders (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
• Participate in testing, deployment, and production support
• Maintain documentation for interfaces, workflows, and data mappings

🧠 Required Skills

• Strong experience with HTTP APIs, REST APIs, SOAP, Web Services
• Hands-on expertise with Mirth Connect or Rhapsody
• Solid understanding of HL7 v2.x (ADT, ORM, ORU) and FHIR standards
• Experience with healthcare data / EHR / EMR systems
• Proficiency in JavaScript (Mirth scripting), Java, or Python
• Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, XSLT transformations
• Experience with integration engines / middleware platforms
• Good debugging and troubleshooting skills
