Job Description:

Texas Education Agency (TEA) is seeking an experienced Instructional Design Lead to support its AI & Emerging Technology initiatives. This role will focus on designing and developing a comprehensive AI and automation literacy training program for agency staff.

The selected candidate will be responsible for building structured learning experiences, including web-based training, instructor-led materials, and reusable content aligned with agency policies, governance, privacy, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop end-to-end training curricula for AI and automation literacy

Build and organize training content within an online platform (LMS/e-learning systems)

Develop web-based courses, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and videos

Create learning objectives, instructional outlines, and facilitator guides

Translate complex technical and policy concepts into easy-to-understand training content

Develop mandatory and advanced learning modules (AI fundamentals, responsible use, Microsoft Copilot, automation concepts, etc.)

Recommend assessment strategies and completion tracking methods

Create sustainment documentation to enable ongoing internal training support

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of experience in instructional design, training development, and curriculum creation

Strong experience delivering technical or systems-related training

Expertise in developing both web-based and instructor-led training materials

Experience working with LMS platforms and e-learning authoring tools

Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences

Experience developing training aligned with policy, governance, privacy, or security standards

Exposure to Microsoft-based tools and environments

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience developing AI literacy or automation training programs

Hands-on experience with Microsoft tools such as Copilot, Power Automate, Power BI, or Power Platform

Experience creating role-based learning paths and ongoing training programs

Prior experience supporting public sector or education clients
