IBM IMS (Information Management System)  Specialist

Role Summary:

Responsible for the administration, configuration, and ongoing support of IBM IMS (Information Management System) — including IMS DB and IMS TM — on z/OS platforms. This may include daily operational activities, software upgrades, and more complex project work.

Key Responsibilities:

•⁠  ⁠Install, configure, and maintain IMS DB/TM environments on z/OS

•⁠  ⁠Apply IMS software maintenance and perform version upgrades

•⁠  ⁠Manage IMS system definitions (DBDs, PSBs, ACBs) and online change processes

•⁠  ⁠Monitor IMS performance and availability using Omegamon or equivalent tools

•⁠  ⁠Support IMS Connect and Open Database access configurations

•⁠  ⁠Perform database recovery and resolve IMS-related incidents

•⁠  ⁠Collaborate with application teams on IMS program specifications and testing
