Hadoop Admin

• Optimize cluster performance through tuning and resource allocation
• Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, or Perl)
• Collaborate with developers and data engineers to support big data workflows
• Conduct capacity planning and monitor storage and compute utilization
• Apply patches, upgrades, and maintain cluster health
• Document processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of experience managing Hadoop ecosystems
• Strong knowledge of Hadoop components: HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, HBase, Spark, Pig
• Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix administration
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Python, Perl)
• Understanding of distributed computing, data replication, and cluster management
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Ambari, Cloudera Manager, Nagios)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-based Hadoop solutions (AWS EMR, Azure HDInsight, GCP Dataproc)
• Knowledge of data ingestion tools (Sqoop, Flume, Kafka)
• Familiarity with security frameworks (Kerberos, Ranger, Knox)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for big data environments
• Hadoop or Cloudera certifications
