About the job
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer with deep expertise in Guidewire Policy Center and Guidewire Cloud technologies. This role requires a strong hands-on technical leader who can actively contribute to development while guiding a small offshore team. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and integration of modern Guidewire solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
Key Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter.
- Proven experience in Guidewire development and integrations, not limited to support activities.
- Ability to directly work on Guidewire codebase, develop APIs, and build integrations.
- Mandatory Guidewire full certification (Specialist certifications alone will not qualify).
- Guidewire ACE certification is highly preferred.
- Must be local to, or willing to relocate to, one of the listed work locations.
- Ability to function as a player-coach — hands-on coding while mentoring and leading teams.
- Experience troubleshooting and enhancing Apache Camel routes within the Integration Gateway.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle technical discussions independently.
- Minimum 2 years of technical leadership experience.
- Ideal experience range: 5–8 years overall.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of Guidewire PolicyCenter solutions.
- Architect and deliver scalable Guidewire integrations and cloud-native solutions.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Mentor and guide development teams while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Conduct technical evaluations and recommend new technologies to improve performance and user experience.
- Manage stakeholder communication and contribute to key technical decision-making.
- Drive delivery excellence across the software development lifecycle.
Required Technical Expertise
- Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration on current Guidewire Cloud versions such as:
- Niseko
- Oulu
- Las Lenas
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud Integration Gateway (IG) and App Events Framework.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Apache Camel for custom integration development.
- Expertise in event-driven architecture, REST APIs, and webhooks.
- Hands-on APD experience involving live code/entity generation, not just product modeling.
- Strong understanding of Guidewire Cloud-native architecture and integrations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Guidewire ACE Certification (PolicyCenter or Integration)
- Guidewire Cloud Technical Certification
- AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect
- Strong technical architecture and design experience
- Experience driving innovation and modernization initiatives
