Job Description

We are looking for an experienced QA/QE Lead with strong BigQuery and data testing experience to support enterprise data platform projects. The consultant should have expertise in ETL/ELT testing, SQL, data validation, automation frameworks, and cloud data platforms. This role includes leading QA activities, managing teams, ensuring data quality, and supporting cloud migration initiatives

Key Responsibilities

*Lead QA and testing activities for enterprise data platform and cloud migration projects, ensuring smooth delivery and high-quality data solutions.
* Create and maintain test plans, QA strategies, and data quality processes across ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud platforms such as BigQuery.
* Perform various testing activities including unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, reconciliation testing, and UAT validation.
* Validate source-to-target data using row count checks, field-level validation, historical data comparison, aggregates, and reconciliation techniques to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
* Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and integrate automation processes into CI/CD pipelines along with DevOps and DataOps practices.
* Manage QA teams, test environments, defect tracking, and quality review activities while coordinating with business stakeholders and engineering teams for successful project releases.

Must-Have Skills:

* 12+ years of experience in QA / Quality Engineering with strong expertise in leading enterprise-level QA teams and projects.

* Strong experience in Data Warehouse and Data Platform testing including ETL/ELT validation, data reconciliation, and data quality testing.

* Hands-on expertise in SQL queries, data analysis, and cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, and Databricks.

*Experience working with QA automation frameworks and modern data testing tools including dbt tests, Great Expectations, Soda, and Datafold.

*Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, DevOps, and DataOps practices for automated testing and deployment processes.

* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with experience coordinating distributed QA teams and communicating technical risks to business and technical teams

*Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills:

*  Experience working on on-premise EDW to cloud migration projects. 

*  Hands-on experience using AI/GenAI tools for QA and testing activities. 

* Knowledge of data observability and governance tools like Monte Carlo, Bigeye, Collibra, Alation, or Atlan. 

*  Experience with Python scripting and validating BI/reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
