Job Title: DevOps & Production Systems Engineer

Location: : San Jose, CA (100% Onsite)

Duration : Long Term Contract 

About the Role

We are looking for a high-level DevOps Engineer who brings engineering depth to our infrastructure. This is not a role for someone who simply follows runbooks; we need a builder who can design, develop, and integrate automation platforms from the ground up. You will be responsible for tying together cloud, virtualization, and configuration management into a seamless, end-to-end system.

Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas

• Terraform Platform Development: Act as the primary architect for our Terraform platform. You will be expected to have extensive skills in developing, scaling, and maintaining Terraform modules and provider integrations.
• Deep Ansible Engineering: Go beyond "pushing code." You must have experience creating, deploying, and developing Ansible roles and playbooks across the entire stack, ensuring full-cycle configuration management.
• End-to-End System Integration: Take ownership of integrating Terraform, Ansible, and OpenShift/VM environments. You must be able to "tie it all together" to ensure all components work as a unified system.
• Python Integration: Actively jump into the codebase to develop Python scripts that integrate various infrastructure components and automate complex process flows.
• Configuration Management: Lead configuration management efforts at the component level. We need an engineer who can design the logic of the configuration, not just execute existing scripts.
• Hybrid OS Support: Provide basic-to-moderate support and maintenance for RHEL environments. While not a pure SysAdmin role, you must be capable of jumping into the OS to troubleshoot and maintain system health.

Technical Must-Haves

• Extensive Terraform: High proficiency in building and developing infrastructure platforms.
• Deep Ansible Skills: Proven track record of developing automation across the full infrastructure stack.
• Engineering Mindset: Ability to build and integrate systems rather than just following a manual or runbook.
• Python Coding: Ability to write and maintain code for component integration.
• Platform Knowledge: Strong experience with either OpenShift or VMware (and the ability to automate them).
• OS Environment: Solid understanding of RHEL; experience with SUSE or AIX is a significant plus.

• You don't just use tools; you build platforms.
• You can troubleshoot an OS issue one hour and develop a global automation module the next.
• You take accountability for the "big picture," ensuring that every piece of the infrastructure stack is integrated and resilient.
