📍 Location: Phoenix, AZ / Walnut Creek, CA (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week)
📅 Duration: Long-Term Contract

🌐 About the Role
Seeking a Senior Cloud & Datacenter Engineer to provide architectural leadership, hands-on engineering, and operational excellence across our AWS cloud platform and on-prem datacenter environments.
This is a high-impact role where you will architect, build, and operate mission-critical hybrid infrastructure, integrating modern AWS cloud platforms with enterprise-grade datacenter technologies.

🔑 Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Operations (AWS)
Architect and operate AWS environments (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, Lambda).
Design and manage containerized workloads (ECS/EKS).
Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Deploy CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, scripting).
Lead cloud networking integration (DNS, DHCP, routing, multi-VPC).
Implement monitoring/observability (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
Datacenter & On-Prem Infrastructure
Lead modernization efforts across VMware vSphere/vSAN, Nutanix, Cisco UCS/HX.
Architect and operate enterprise platforms (Dell PowerEdge, VxRail, Pure Storage).
Manage storage/backup systems (Cohesity).
Perform lifecycle management, hardware refreshes, and DR testing.
Enforce security standards (IAM, encryption, segmentation, compliance).
Automation & DevOps
Develop and scale Terraform modules for hybrid deployments.
Automate with Puppet, Ansible, and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
Build automated release, patching, and monitoring pipelines.
Operations & Reliability
Provide senior oversight for 24x7 operations.
Own monitoring systems across cloud/datacenter footprints.
Maintain DR playbooks and conduct failover testing.
Document architectures, SOPs, and lifecycle roadmaps.
Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with security, networking, DevOps, and application teams.
Engage vendors for architecture reviews and technology evaluations.
Mentor junior engineers and enforce technical best practices.

⭐ Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA, RHCE, Nutanix NCP.
Experience with Azure, VDI, identity (SSO/MFA), and security tools.
Prior experience in regulated industries (Logistics, Shipping, Transportation, Finance).
