This is an onsite role in Austin, Texas! It will be a 6-month contract with possibility of extension.

As a Data Engineer, you will report to the Director of Data Products and play a key role in modernizing Advisor solutions on a next-generation cloud platform. You will work as part of a collaborative team to enhance overall data quality and design scalable, efficient data pipelines and orchestration using modern cloud technologies.

In this role, you will build and support secure, resilient data architectures and data warehouse solutions that enable high-quality, reliable data. Your work will directly support the delivery of actionable insights to Advisors, helping them grow and optimize their business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Data profiling and refining data mapping documents for building data pipelines through rigorous data analysis
* Design data pipelines to extract data from different data sources using SQL and APIs on Azure, Databricks and other cloud-native technologies
* Perform code reviews and knowledge sharing with team members
* Design and manage inbound and outbound data processes and monitoring using existing standards and processes
* Working in an Agile scrum team and achieve high-quality product incrementally in an interactive manner.
* Write Test-driven Development codes to meet overall data quality standards early in the process
* Automate the data testing processes and integrate them with monitoring systems.
* Work with the Application Engineering team, DBA, Infrastructure, and Project Ownership.
* Meet with our users, assist with data-related technical issues, and support their data infrastructure needs.

SKILLS:
* 8+ years of experience in following technologies: Azure Cloud Services: Data Factory, SQL Server database, Functions, Data Lake, Databricks and Azure Automation.
* Proficiency with Python (4+ years). Additional coding languages: Rust, Typescript and Go.
* 5+ years data analysis experience in a data warehouse/data lake environment
* Advanced working knowledge of Databricks database - writing advanced SQL script, profiling, and optimization.
* Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
* Working experience implementing slowly changing dimensions into dimensional models
* Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake.
* Experience creating and using APIs
* Preference for background in Financial Services in Wealth Management/Independent Broker Dealer/RIA.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, MIS/Information Management, Engineering or related field
* 8+ years’ experience in Data Engineering role.
