Job Description

Title: Data Engineer (Snowflake, dbt, SQL)
Location: San Jose, CA – (Day 1 Onsite)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake, dbt, and SQL to design, build, and optimize modern data pipelines and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience with cloud data warehouses, data modeling, and transformation frameworks, enabling scalable and reliable data driven insights across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
•    Data Pipeline Development
•    Design and implement ETL/ELT workflows using dbt and SQL.
•    Develop efficient data models in Snowflake to support analytics and reporting.
•    Optimize queries and transformations for performance and cost efficiency.
•    Data Management & Governance
•    Ensure data quality, consistency, and lineage across pipelines.
•    Implement role based access controls and security best practices in Snowflake.
•    Collaborate on data governance initiatives to maintain trusted datasets.
•    Integration & Collaboration
•    Integrate Snowflake with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
•    Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable datasets.
•    Support migration projects from legacy systems to Snowflake.
•    Automation & Operations
•    Automate workflows using dbt Cloud, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools.
•    Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, ensuring high availability.
•    Contribute to CI/CD practices for data engineering projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications
•    Strong hands on experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, security).
•    Proficiency in dbt (data transformations, testing, documentation).
•    Advanced SQL skills for complex queries and optimization.
•    Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
•    Experience with version control (Git) and workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect).
•    Knowledge of BI/analytics tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
•    Relevant certifications (e.g., Snowflake SnowPro Core, dbt Fundamentals) preferred.
