Statement of the Job
As a Data Analytics and Reporting Specialist, candidate will translate business reporting needs into a modern, scalable analytics and reporting ecosystem.
You will design and deliver reports and dashboards using Power BI and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), supported by well-governed data models, curated datasets, and reliable integration pipelines.
Candidate will integrate data from multiple sources, implement transformations, and ensure consistent performance, governance, and observability across the reporting platforms.
This role is ideal for a hands-on analytics developer with strong SQL and data warehousing skills, experience building semantic models for self-service analytics, and working knowledge of Azure data services, Power BI and the Oracle/OCI ecosystem.
Beyond the technical stack, we are looking for someone who enjoys the detective work of discovery, someone who can sit down with the business, ask the right questions, to understand the actual need.
Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Partner with business owners to clarify reporting needs, define success criteria, and translate requirements into metrics, dashboards, and reports.
Serve as a SME for data analytics, ensuring business team goals are addressed efficiently. Regularly monitor user feedback and adjust tools as needed. Create easy-to-follow guides explaining data sources and meaning for all employees.
Conduct an analysis of existing application databases and data warehouses to identify relevant data sources for reporting purposes.
Design, build, and maintain Power BI and OAC dashboards and reports, including drilldowns, filters, and KPI scorecards.
Develop and optimize data models/semantic layers and curated datasets to enable self-service analytics.
Build and operate automated, scalable data pipelines and integrations; implement validation checks and documentation.
Ensure governance and reliability: metadata consistency, lineage, access controls, and environment management.
Monitor and optimize query/report performance; troubleshoot data issues end-to-end (source to dashboard).
Enable repeatable deployments by using Git and CI/CD practices (Azure DevOps and/or GitLab) where applicable.
Own assigned deliverables end-to-end and communicate status, risks, and timelines.
