Job Summary
Under broad supervision, performs complex administrative duties and statistical, financial, or operational data analysis and reporting in support of management decision making in the functional area. Identifies trends, discrepancies, and variances to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
May partner with other departments, divisions, outside agencies, and vendors to address business issues. Exercises various latitudes of independent judgment. May administer or provide high-level support for various projects, grants, contracts, implementation of procedures, and/or specialized functions.
Provides strategic analysis and assists with orientation, training, or task guidance for junior team members.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Extract primary data from Oracle Database using SQL
- Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques
- Provide timely and accurate data for internal and external requests
- Identify, compile, and clean data for research projects
- Analyze trends or patterns in complex datasets
- Oversee evaluation and research projects
- Communicate evaluation plans and project details to leadership and stakeholders
- Collaborate with external research partners
- Develop and monitor internal and external data requests
- Manage, summarize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
- Summarize and explain research findings and implications
- Prepare findings for publication
- Develop, review, and abstract published research
- Produce Tableau dashboards and data visualizations
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND two years in a related lead or supervisory role
OR
- Associate’s degree in a related field AND four years of related experience, including two years in a lead or supervisory role
OR
- Two years of experience at the lower level IT Business Analyst or equivalent position.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with databases such as SQL and Oracle
- 5+ years of experience accessing and extracting data from organizational databases
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating large volumes of information
- 2+ years of experience in Criminal Justice and/or Data Management/Analysis
- Experience with queries, report writing, and presenting findings
- Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools
