Computer Scientist – FPGA & Quantum Communication Systems
Location: NIST Campus, Building 222, Gaithersburg, Maryland (Onsite)
Key Personnel Requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Scientist to support advanced research and development in FPGA-based Quantum Communication Systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Strong theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in communication systems, hardware development, and simulation.
Experience with HDL/Verilog/VHDL and FPGA development platforms.
Solid understanding of digital communication systems and embedded hardware design.
Key Responsibilities
1. FPGA Quantum Network Controller Development
Design FPGA-based Quantum Network Controller architecture.
Develop block diagrams and hardware schematics.
Design and implement Verilog modules.
Build and validate accurate simulation testbeds.
Perform functional verification and hardware testing.
2. Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) Research
Research and evaluate TDC architectures.
Develop architecture block diagrams.
Perform performance modeling and simulation.
Prepare analytical reports with design recommendations and results.
3. PYNQ Library Development for Quantum Communication Systems
Design Programmable Logic (PL) and Processing System (PS) interconnect architecture.
Develop customized PYNQ libraries for Quantum Communication applications.
Create comprehensive user documentation and integration guides.
Support software-hardware interface development and validation.
4. Reporting
Prepare and submit detailed monthly progress reports.
Document technical achievements, milestones, simulation results, and project status.
Required Technical Skills
FPGA Design (Xilinx/AMD preferred)

FPGA Development Tools (Vivado/Vitis or equivalent)
