Cobol Developer

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced COBOL Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in legacy systems and modern integration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting COBOL-based applications, along with contributing to system enhancements and migration initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain COBOL applications on mainframe systems
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Modify and enhance batch jobs, online screens, reports, and queries
• Perform code reviews, testing, debugging, and production support
• Analyze data issues and generate reports for business insights
• Support application modernization and migration to web-based platforms
• Ensure adherence to SDLC, coding standards, and deployment processes
• Prepare technical and user documentation

Required Skills:

• 6+ years of experience in COBOL Mainframe development
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • COBOL
  • DB2
  • CICS
  • JCL
  • Control-M
• Good understanding of SDLC processes
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience in production support and data analysis
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Java and open systems experience
• AWS exposure
• PostgreSQL knowledge
• Experience with Kofax
