Cloud/Platform/Systems Specialist

Short Description:
Public Safety IT team is seeking a senior Cloud/Platform Specialist to support and lead hybrid cloud initiatives. The role focuses on modernizing infrastructure, improving scalability, optimizing costs, and ensuring secure, reliable operations across AWS and on-prem environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage AWS environments (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3)
• Build and support hybrid cloud architectures integrating on-prem and AWS
• Lead legacy system migrations to AWS with modernization strategies
• Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud, network, and identity systems
• Ensure high availability, DR (RTO/RPO), and performance optimization
• Drive cost optimization (FinOps) and resource efficiency
• Define and support IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
• Implement AWS security best practices (IAM, MFA, encryption, guardrails)
• Collaborate with teams on automation, deployment, and performance tuning
• Maintain architecture diagrams, documentation, and audit artifacts

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in AWS (IAM, RBAC, networking, compute)
• Hands-on with hybrid cloud environments
• Experience in Terraform, CI/CD, and automation (Ansible is a plus)
• Solid understanding of FinOps / cost estimation & optimization
• Expertise in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and system design
