Job Title: Senior Business System Analyst (Property & Casualty, Claims, policy)

Location: Day one onsite Jersey City, NJ

Industry: Property & Casualty Insurance

 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business System Analyst to join our client’s team in Jersey City, NJ. Requiring strong experience in Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance projects and a deep understanding of claims, policy lifecycle, accounting, and data systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with data engineering tools, demonstrate strong leadership in managing distributed teams, and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct end-to-end business systems analysis and systems analysis for enterprise-level insurance projects.
  • Define, analyze, and document business and functional requirements across multiple systems and stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional development teams ensuring deliverables meet acceptance criteria and project timelines.
  • Review and validate data mapping documents from source to destination systems.
  • Design and oversee the development of data pipelines, data structures, and data warehouses (primarily in Snowflake).
  • Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to build scalable, high-availability, distributed data platforms.
  • Ensure alignment with SDLC methodologies, best practices, and enterprise standards.
  • Act as a key liaison between business users, developers, QA teams, and leadership.
  • Mentor team members and drive a culture of excellence and accountability.

     

Required Qualifications:

  • Recent experience working on Property and Casualty Insurance projects.
  • Strong understanding of claims processing, policy lifecycle, insurance operations, and accounting principles.
  • Proven experience with data engineering:
  • Snowflake, SQL/PL, data warehousing, pipeline development, data structures
  • Experience leading large-scale data initiatives with distributed teams and multiple managers.
  • Strong background in enterprise-grade production solution development.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.

     

Preferred Qualifications / Nice to Have:

  • Reinsurance domain knowledge.
