Role: Business Analyst ( HCM)
Location-Washington DC , Onsite
Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst – HCM (Human Capital Management) to support HR technology initiatives and process improvements. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between HR business stakeholders and IT teams, gathering requirements, analyzing HR processes, and supporting the implementation or enhancement of HCM systems.
The role focuses on HR processes such as Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management, Recruiting, and Workforce Management while ensuring alignment with business goals and system capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Requirements & Analysis
• Collaborate with HR stakeholders, business leaders, and IT teams to gather and document business requirements.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, and process documentation.
• Conduct gap analysis between current HR processes and proposed system solutions.
• Analyze business workflows and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities.
HCM System Support
• Support configuration, implementation, or enhancement of HCM systems such as:
o Workday
o Oracle HCM Cloud
o SAP SuccessFactors
o ADP / UKG / PeopleSoft
• Assist in defining data mapping, integrations, and reporting requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirement sessions with HR teams.
• Act as the liaison between HR business users, project teams, developers, and vendors.
• Ensure requirements are clearly communicated and understood.
Documentation
• Create and maintain:
o Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
o Functional Specifications
o Process Flow Diagrams
o User Stories
o Test Scenarios
• Maintain documentation in tools such as Jira, Confluence, or SharePoint.
Testing & Implementation
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Assist with test case creation, execution, and defect tracking.
• Coordinate with HR stakeholders during system deployments.
Data & Reporting
• Analyze HR data and reporting needs.
• Support HR reporting tools and dashboards.
• Ensure data accuracy during migrations and system integrations.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
• 3+ years of experience working with HCM/HRIS systems.
• Strong understanding of HR business processes including:
o Core HR
o Payroll
o Benefits
o Recruiting
o Performance Management
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Proficiency with requirements documentation and business analysis techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with one or more HCM platforms:
o Workday
o Oracle HCM Cloud
o SAP SuccessFactors
• Experience with HR data migration and integrations.
• Knowledge of HR compliance and regulations.
• Familiarity with reporting tools, analytics, and dashboards.
• Experience with HR transformation or ERP implementations.
