Job Description

IBM Mainframe Performance Management with Omegamon

Remote

The Performance Management Migration Specialist leads enterprise clients through the migration from CA/ASG/BMC performance monitoring products to IBM's OMEGAMON suite. The role requires expert-level knowledge of mainframe performance management, deep familiarity with OMEGAMON product configuration, and the ability to deliver complex migration estimates, documentation, and technical pre-sales support.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Install and customize the full IBM OMEGAMON suite: OMEGAMON for z/OS, OMEGAMON for CICS, OMEGAMON XE for DB2 Performance Expert, OMEGAMON for Messaging, OMEGAMON for Networks, and IBM Z NetView.
• Lead migrations from CA SYSVIEW, CA Insight for DB2, and CA Netmaster to their OMEGAMON equivalents.
• Provide detailed monitoring and problem management capability for IBM Z and its key subsystems (CICS, DB2, MQ, Networks).
• Investigate and analyze performance data to draw conclusions regarding migration paths and corrective actions.
• Provide migration estimates from competitive products to IBM OMEGAMON.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, migration guides, and operational runbooks.
• Work collaboratively with infrastructure teams, project managers, contractors, and client staff.
• Support technical pre-sales activities where required.
