Azure Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure Design & Architecture

· Design Azure Government Cloud architecture for SDWIS environments (Test and Production)

· Define network topology, segmentation, and access controls

· Establish high availability and disaster recovery architecture

Environment Setup & Configuration

· Provision Azure resources (VMs, storage, networking, security services)

· Configure identity and access management (IAM)

· Implement secure connectivity (VPN, firewall rules, private endpoints)

Security & Compliance

· Implement security controls aligned with:

o State of Illinois IT policies

o Federal (EPA / SDWIS-related) requirements

· Configure:

o Threat detection and monitoring tools

o Vulnerability scanning and patching processes

· Support audits and security documentation

Infrastructure Operations & Maintenance

· Monitor system performance, uptime, and security events

· Perform routine maintenance and patching

· Maintain backup and recovery systems (RPO/RTO aligned with SLA expectations)

Support & Coordination

· Coordinate with GEC DevOps and Security teams

· Participate in project meetings as needed

· Provide escalation support for infrastructure-related issues
