Azure Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to enable reliable data access and analytics.

This role requires strong experience with Azure data services, ETL development, and data warehousing.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

• Design and build scalable data pipelines using Azure services
• Develop ETL/ELT processes for ingesting structured and unstructured data
• Build batch and real-time data processing solutions
• Optimize pipeline performance and data reliability

Azure Platform Development

• Work with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure Databricks
• Implement data lake solutions using Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
• Manage data ingestion from APIs, databases, and third-party systems
• Build reusable data frameworks and components

Data Warehousing & Modeling

• Design and maintain data warehouse architectures
• Develop dimensional models (Star / Snowflake schemas)
• Optimize SQL queries and data performance
• Maintain data quality and governance standards

Collaboration

• Work with data analysts and data scientists to support reporting needs
• Collaborate with DevOps teams for CI/CD deployments
• Participate in architecture discussions and solution design

Required Skills

Must Have

• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure data services
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Data Lake (ADLS Gen2)
  • Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Azure Databricks
• Strong SQL and data modeling experience
• Experience with Python or PySpark
• Experience building ETL pipelines

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Delta Lake
• Experience with streaming (Azure Event Hub / Kafka)
• Experience with Power BI
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
• Experience with data governance and security

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Nice to Have

• Azure certifications (Azure Data Engineer Associate preferred)
• Experience working in large enterprise environments
