As400 Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using RPG (RPGLE / Free RPG) and CL programming.
• Work with DB2/400 database for data processing and management.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Modify and enhance existing AS400 applications.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.
• Perform system integration with other platforms and modern applications.
• Write and optimize SQL queries.
• Maintain proper documentation and coding standards.
• Support batch processing and job scheduling.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience in RPG (RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, Free Format RPG).
• Knowledge of CL (Control Language) programming.
• Experience with IBM Db2 (DB2/400).
• Understanding of AS400 system architecture and concepts.
• Experience with file handling (physical and logical files).
• Familiarity with debugging tools and performance tuning.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and query optimization.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modernizing legacy systems (API integration, web services).
• Knowledge of tools like IBM Rational Developer for i.
• Exposure to Java, .NET, or web technologies for integration.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of system security and user management in IBM
